Vacations are even better when the whole family is together… including our four-legged friends! At LANDAE, the Ondres-Océan municipal campground, dogs and cats are welcome to enjoy their own little getaway in the heart of the Landes region.
Set in a 6-hectare natural setting between a pine forest and the Atlantic Ocean, the campground is an ideal starting point for enjoying beautiful walks and exploring the surrounding area with your pet.

Want to go on vacation with your dog or cat? No need to look for pet-sitting arrangements—your pet can stay with you at LANDAE.
The campground accepts dogs and cats, with only one pet allowed per campsite or accommodation unit. A daily fee applies. Dogs and cats must have up-to-date vaccination records. Category 1 and 2 dogs are not permitted.
A few simple rules ensure that everyone has a great vacation: Pets must be kept on a leash within the campground and may not be left alone in accommodations or on campsites. They are not allowed near the pool, in food stores, or inside buildings.
Ondres Beach with Your Dog: What You Need to Know
A vacation in Ondres inevitably means the ocean! But if you have a dog, it’s important to know the local rules before you go.
On the access paths and in the beach parking lot, dogs must be kept on a leash. On the sand, during the summer lifeguard season, they must also remain on a leash and are permitted only outside the restricted area, which is marked by signs.
For a peaceful walk with your dog, be sure to stay away from supervised swimming areas and follow the on-site signage.
The northern access path is particularly recommended for walks with dogs.
Our tip: Opt for walks early in the morning or late in the day. Your dog will enjoy the cooler temperatures more, and you’ll be able to fully appreciate the peaceful atmosphere of the Landes coast.
Forest walks to stretch those legs
In Ondres, nature is everywhere. The town has many forested areas and bike trails, as well as trails that let you enjoy the natural setting of the Landes region.
From the campground, you can walk to the beach along the forest trail. It’s a pleasant way to combine a stroll, nature, and exploring the coastline.
And for dog owners who love to walk, the Landes forest is a true playground: the scent of pine trees, shaded trails, and the sea air… enough to delight both dogs and their owners!
